Spirit Rock
Official Barton Pond Elementary PTA Spirit Rock Rules
Reservations must be made and paid in full BEFORE painting the rock! If your date cannot be added to your cart or says "Item out of Stock," your date is unavailable.
Reservations are for 24 hours. You may reserve multiple dates throughout the year.
You may start painting the rock at 4:30 PM the day before the date you reserved. For example, if you reserve April 9th, you can start painting at 4:30 PM on April 8th and it will remain painted with your design until April 9th at 4:29 PM. If you reserve a Monday, you may paint the rock on Saturday or Sunday prior to the Monday you have rented.
All reservations are NON-REFUNDABLE (weather, changed your mind, missed or forgot your reservation, etc.). You may offer your reservation to a friend if you are unable to use it but we cannot issue refunds. If wet, the rock can be towel dried and painted even in the rain. If there's inclement weather and you don't want to paint on that date, you can look at the calendar for an alternative date. You must contact spiritrock@bartonpondpta.com if you need to reschedule due to weather.
You are responsible for all materials needed to paint the rock. Outdoor-specific paint or spray paint work best. Craft paint works well for details and letters. NO OIL-BASED PAINT! Make sure paint is not left on the sidewalk or the ground surrounding the rock. Using a dropcloth is highly recommended. Remove all painting materials and trash from the site. Please recycle empty paint cans appropriately.
If you reserve the rock, you assume liability for any injuries incurred or damage to clothing or personal property. Use of PPE for spray paint is recommended.
All Spirit Rock painting must meet the same standard we would expect of any school sponsored sign. Please leave politics, religion, profanity, and potentially offensive messages off of the rock. Barton Pond PTA and administration reserves the right to remove any content deemed inappropriate.
Some dates may be blocked off for PTA or school use.
If you need financial assistance to rent the rock, please contact spiritrock@bartonpondpta.com.

Wear old clothes.
It takes 2-3 cans of spray paint to cover the rock.
