FAQ

How does the book fair benefit our school?

For every purchase made at the in-person fair, Barton Pond will earn 50% back in Scholastic dollars to purchase books and other supplies for our school.

What form of payments are accepted?

You may set up an eWallet account for your child (cashless option - sign up here), cash*, and credit cards.

*All cash purchases are rounded up after tax (7.25%). The rounded-up change goes toward the “All for Books” program which allows students at Barton Pond to buy books who otherwise may not be able to. It is an easy way to support the program while not having to deal with giving back change that often gets lost.

Can I shop with my child?

Yes! Your child will be shopping the fair during their library special. Check with your child’s teacher for their library special day and time. You may also choose to come during our Family Night on Thursday, December 14 from 4:00 – 6:10 p.m. (This family night is also our school’s first Winter Concert which starts at 6:00 p.m.)

Do the teachers have wish lists that I can purchase a book for their classroom?

Teachers have had the opportunity to create an eWallet account for donations - You can find teachers' eWallets here. If your teacher has one set up, you can add money to their eWallet account so they can purchase books for their classroom. How easy is that?! If your child's teacher has not set up an eWallet, contact either them or your room parent for additional instructions.

Is there somewhere that I can donate money for other students to buy books?

Yes. We have an “All for Books” eWallet where you can donate, and that money will be available for children at Barton Pond who could benefit from the program. You may also make a cash donation for this program at the Book Fair.

Can I volunteer to work the fair?

Yes. We love volunteers! Please volunteer by signing up on our SignUpGenius page. (Make sure you have been approved by Wake County prior to volunteering.)

Is there a time when only parents and other caretakers can shop?

Yes, parents can shop daily from 12:20 – 1:00 p.m. and 2:50-3:45 p.m. We will also open for parents the last day of the fair, Friday, December 15 from 9:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Stop in and do some last-minute shopping while supporting our school.
